Rules for Trading Charts
New HOTS Jazz Orchestra has an extensive collection of stock
arrangements (over 2000) and transcriptions.
| The collection includes military band charts, vintage dance and
ragtime era charts (cornets and clarinets in A, no saxophones, full strings),
10-piece hot dance charts, 15-piece or larger big band charts, and just
about every variation between. Some are missing parts. Others have
been reworked on FINALE and extra parts have been added. All are copies,
none are "originals".
We are willing to trade copies of our arrangements for an equivalent number or value of yours. We’ll sell copies of our charts outright for the actual cost of copying and postage anywhere in the world. We estimate the cost at 15 cents per page. Please contact us for a more specific rate quote. |

If you are interested in acquiring stock arrangements or transcriptions, send us your mailing address and you will receive a printout of the collection. (It’s too large to transfer electronically.) We would appreciate a similar list from you. Key elements to know are the tune title, the name of the arranger, and the date of publication or copyright. Other helpful descriptive elements are the author/composer, the publisher, the style or tempo (waltz, fox-trot, swing, rumba) the initial key, and any missing parts.
We would also like your your recommendations as to which of your charts you've had the best success with or most audience appreciation from. We would be interested in any choreographed routines, horn waving, etc., that go with each chart.
We generally prefer to trade arrangement for arrangement (not by page count.) We make copies at the local copy store on standard 8x10-1/2" paper We don't have our own copier, so we can't easily do folio sizes, etc. 8x10-1/2 is quick and easy. We can't afford to copy many at a time, so be selective. We also need to be sure that we exchange by airmail versus boat mail.
If there's something particular you are looking for and it's not on our list, we may still be able to get it for you through other collectors. Just Ask Me!
